Viva Productions is a small but dynamic independent production company producing feature films, documentaries, short films and television projects.

Viva’s films have been award winning and produced to the highest production values. Viva welcomes international co-productions and co-ventures.


Franziska Wagenfeld is managing director of Viva Productions. As an independent producer who has developed and produced feature films, television dramas, short films and documentaries, Franziska’s most recent project is the feature film Playing for Charlie currently screening at international festivals and to be released in cinemas early 2010. Franziska was co-producer on the Australian thriller Irresistible, starring Susan Sarandon, Sam Neill and Emily Blunt. Franziska’s projects have won awards in the domestic and international arena and have screened at numerous film festivals.


Franziska grew up in West Berlin, Melbourne and in the USA. She was instrumental in establishing Melbourne’s leading independent broadcasting station, TripleR. She returned to West Berlin where she worked for Berlin television (SFB). Franziska studied film at the San Francisco Art Institute where she wrote and directed a number of short films. She received funding from Filmhaus Hamburg to write and direct, before returning to West Berlin to study sociology and politics (BA). She resides in Melbourne Australia.


Alongside producing, Franziska is a passionate lecturer in film production at a number of universities.
